(via Zoom) WPA History & Achievements, by Kathryn Barrett

August 8, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Due to concerns about the pandemic, and because the space at the Library is not quite ready for our public use, the regular monthly meeting will be done using Zoom. If you have not used Zoom, please take a few minutes and open an account (it is free!) If you need some help, watch this YouTube video before Saturday: https://youtu.be/9isp3qPeQ0E.
This is all very straightforward. You can use your computer or phone. On Saturday, make sure your sound and camera are turned on and join the Zoom meeting before 10 am.

WPA History and Achievements: Kathryn Barrett will present the objectives, development, and history of achievements of the WPA which employed men and women from 1935 to June 1943 to alleviate unemployment and poverty. Maybe you had an ancestor who worked for the WPA.

Barrett is a 37-year volunteer at the National Archives and Record Administration in Chicago. She has taught genealogy courses and lectured at numerous genealogy libraries and organizations. She is a member of the Wisconsin Historical Society and the National Genealogical Society.

Kathryn’s presentation will be given in person at our library, now that we have reopened. We will follow all CDC guidelines including wearing masks and social distancing. The program is free and open to the public.
